India’s squad for the upcoming ICC World Cup in England and Wales will be picked on April 15. They has learnt that the senior selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India and India captain, Virat Kohli, will meet in Mumbai next Monday. The 15-member squad is expected to be announced soon after that.
The World Cup begins on May 30, with the final to be played on July 14 India play their first match of the World Cup against South Africa on June 5.
The last date for announcing the World Cup squads is April 23 but BCCI has decided to announce it eight days prior to the scheduled day.
Most of the slots as far as India’s squad is concerned seem to be decided, with most of the players picking themselves. However, the number 4 position in the batting order is expected to be discussed quite a bit at the meeting.
