Last week Redmi India teased a photo of senior Xiaomi executives Lei Jun and Manu Kumar Jain with the new Redmi Note 7. The tweet said the “48 MP head-turner is arriving soon”, and now we have a specific launch date to look forward to. The phone will be launched on February 12 at an event in New Delhi, India.
The invite that says “The time has come” and mentions “Redmi Smartphone Launch”, and seeing how the newly created sub-brand only has one phone it’s all obvious. Lu Weibing, Redmi CEO, is already teasing the Redmi Note 7 Pro, so there might be an outside chance that it will join the vanilla version on stage too.

For pricing, the Redmi Note 7 price in India could start at Rs. 9,999 while the Redmi Note 7 Pro could start at Rs. 13,999. It’s widely expected that the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro could be exclusive to Mi.com and will be also available via Mi Home offline stores. The Redmi Note 7-series is likely to be exclusive to Flipkart.

Talking about highlights, the Redmi Note 7 features a 6.3-inch display with dewdrop notch. The new Redmi smartphone will be the first smartphone in the company portfolio to sport a dewdrop notch display. A Snapdragon 660 processor powers it. A 4800mAh battery backs the Redmi Note 7, and it comes with Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 support for fast charging. The smartphone also comes with USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 sports a dual camera setup. There’s a 48-megapixel rear camera which is one of the biggest highlights for the price it carries while there’s a 5-megapixel secondary sensor.
The Redmi Note 7 comes in two storage options – 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It’s widely expected that the Redmi Note 7 Pro will sport 6GB of RAM and come with 128GB storage. The smartphone will support expandable storage via microSD card up to 256GB. Recent reports have claimed that the Redmi Note 7 Pro could be powered Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor.
